Domotex 2012!

I am back in Sweden again after visiting Hannover and the largest Carpet Fair DOMOTEX for inspiration, meetings and of course to see my Indian colleagues and friends. It was nice to see you all in Hannover!

I also bought a ton of HALI magazines, I really love their articles. They are full of information about different topics such as ancient central asian ikats, safavid carpets, cochineal dyeing and tribal rugs. The rug collections on the Fair was very nice to see - but for me the most inspirational from this trip are my new magazines!

New article in NOVUM World of Graphic Design! 11/11

I det nya numret av tidskriften NOVUM World of Graphic Design så finns mina mattor med under månadens tema Hantverk med artikeln Handknutna framtidsvisioner. Läs gärna hela intervjun här.

The new issue of NOVUM World of Graphic Design is out in stores now. My carpets are featured in the theme of the month Arts&Crafts with the article Hand-knotted visions of our future.
"Many hand-knotted carpets rely on traditional patterns, and these in turn are claimed in many cases to have entire narratives associated with them. No need, however, to be a connoisseur of Persian or Asian ornamental design in order to read carpets designed by Maria Sandberg - although her themes are at least equally sophisticated." To read the well written article, click here.
